Apple first came on the scene in 2001 with this marvel - the iPod. This MP3 player had a whopping 5 gigabytes storage capacity. Today’s latest version of the iPod has songs, photo slides and films. The storage capacity is now up to 80GB. There are 3 versions of the iPod - the iPod 5G, the iPod shuffle which is confined to songs only and iPod nano. The nano is smaller then the other iPods.

iPod is a very light weight instrument that also works with Mac and Windows. Ease of use, with the sensitve click wheel, makes choosing songs or pics a delight. Up to 20,000 songs can fit inside the 80-GB iPod or up to 25,000 photos. You can’t ask for better then that! The search function on the iPod uses keywords to locate the songs. Songs can be downloaded from the iTunes store or other online venues.

The versatility of the iPod is also a bonus as you can connect it to a desktop stereo or in a music system for your car. Recent added features to the iPod are the ability to download contacts and calendar information. The iPod comes with 4 pre-loaded games with the capability to download more games from the iTunes store or other companies.

Loaded inside the iPod there are seven basic parts - the hard drive, battery, display, microprocessor, click wheel, audio chip and video chip.

What’s not to like about an iPod? From the small poratable size, to the large song or photo capacity, the iPod is a great little machine for bringing your music or photos with you where ever you go!
